Flood Relief in Kolhapur
The city of Kolhapur faced disastrous floods and extreme downpour in September 2019. The flooding and heavy showers in Maharashtra affected over 92,000 people in the Vidarbha region. Shri Dutt contributed to the well-being of the people affected by the floods by enabling fortification of staples like milk and wheat, improving access to drinking water, influencing sanitation practices to over 70+ families, thereby taking a step towards disaster management. Relief and rehabilitation efforts were taken in the wake of the natural disaster.
In fact, 2020 was a year unlike any we could have imagined. The successive battles of COVID-19, the resulting economic contraction and job losses, issues of inequities, natural disasters, and many more factors reminded us of the challenges we face as a society. Businesses around the world have realized we have a much larger role to play in helping to solve some of these challenges – now more than ever before. Running a great business and delivering for our customers, partners, employees, and shareholders is critical, but we have an opportunity – and a responsibility – to do more. COVID-19 has touched us all.
